Meta will let brands pay to amplify a creator's Instagram Live broadcast as an advertisement, extending a Facebook feature to live video for the first time and giving advertisers a new way to put spend behind real-time creator content. The company announced the rollout at IAB's first Global Creator Week alongside the global launch of its consolidated Meta Creator Marketing Hub.

Paired with Partnership Ads, Instagram Live Video Ads let a brand put paid media behind a creator's active stream rather than relying on the streamer's organic reach. Meta described the format as a way to convert "high-intent, real-time engagement" into measurable results across the funnel.

What does the Creator Marketing Hub actually include?

Meta first outlined the Hub at Cannes Lions in June as a plan to merge Creator Marketplace and the Partnership Ads Hub. The Hub is live globally now, with additional capabilities rolling out through the rest of 2026:

  • Discovery filters for known and predicted affiliate content
  • Content-level permissions with expiration dates
  • One-click ad creation from inside the Hub
  • Ad-readiness editing tools that strip copyrighted music or stickers so a post qualifies as a Partnership Ad
  • Direct partnership messaging, so brands no longer have to leave the tool

On the API side, Facebook creators now sit alongside Instagram creators in the Creator Marketplace API. Meta added a new Messaging API for creator outreach and expanded its Content Discovery API to match recommendations and filters in Meta's own tools. The company is also folding its Meta AI business assistant into the Hub and bringing Partnership Ads to the Meta Ads MCP connector, which lets advertisers manage creator campaigns through an AI agent of their choice.

Why does the live shift matter for creators and brands?

The move gives talent a new lever to negotiate with brands beyond the appearance fee. Meta's own creator guidance already pitches Partnership Ads as a standard add-on, arguing that because brand spend extends a post's reach beyond a creator's following, creators can "advocate for higher pay given the extended usage rights." Extending that logic to live video means the stream itself, not just the edited clip, becomes an asset a brand can pay to amplify.

Early interest is concentrated with brands already using Instagram Live to reach defined audiences. "When connecting with our core audience of Gen Z and K-Beauty enthusiasts, interactive communication via Instagram Live has proven to be a pivotal engagement channel for us," said Woosung Kim, Performance Marketing Manager at eBay Japan. "We are excited to drive even deeper and more dynamic interactions using the diverse upcoming features of Instagram Live Video Ads."

What does the underlying data show?

Meta cited figures from the "2025 IAB Creator Economy Report" and its own "Q4 2025 Modern Shopper Research":

  • Creator recommendations influence 45% of consumer purchases
  • Creator Economy ad spend has reached $37 billion
  • That spend is growing four times faster than overall media spend

The announcement lands as creator content takes a larger share of paid media generally. A CreatorIQ report found creator content now makes up 44% of paid media creative on average, with 92% of paid media leaders using creator content in campaigns, up from roughly half that a year or two ago. Meta's own figures show creator content delivering a 20% lower cost per acquisition and 50% higher click-through rates than standard brand creative.

With a $37 billion creator ad market growing four times faster than overall media spend and live broadcasts now eligible for paid amplification, the next test is whether real-time creator content can carry the same performance weight as the static posts that already dominate Partnership Ads.
